Can I Save My Filters ?

HI , i’m gutted striping down my 5 gallon tank due to pest snails that I let in via plant ( forgetting to quarantine 1st )
I’ve read that I can save my gravel by bleaching 1 part bleach to 19 parts water . Should I throw filters and start again or could I soak those the filters in a bleach solution as well ? Thanks in advance .
No fish in tank , was the day before getting a Betta half moon and cleaning the tank disturbed the gravel revealing all these baby snails

I would use vinegar instead of bleach.

Bleach is toxic. Vinegar is a disinfectant but not toxic.

Would you do that for the filters , Or start again ?

I would do a 50 /50 solution and disassemble all parts and soak for 10/15 minutes and rinse very well...

Unless you are hankering for a new filter .... There is no need to start over concerning the filter. It needs sanitizing that's all.

If this tank is cycled there is no need to destroy the cycle because of snails. I would just siphon out all the little snails and pick out the bigger ones and then get an assassin snail to keep them under control. As long as you don't over feed your Betta and remove any food he doesn't eat the snail population shouldn't explode and a few of them will help keep your tank algae free.

HI I purchased an assassin snail . And also was doing the lettuce leaf thing , which does work quite well. But due to wanting a Betta fish can’t risk any in tank . So have thought it’s best to start from fresh . Thanks for reply

No , this is my second tank and could do without the extra expense , even though my own fault . Thanks for the tips

I can't imagine the snails being a problem for your Betta but of course you have to do what ever you are comfortable with.
