It won't work with Glofish. however It might if your tank is heavy planted but I would keep back up tank in case. it will be also up to betta behavior it took mine 4 months to get use to other fish..

There’s several stock issues without the betta alone, and more of you add the betta. In a betta community there shouldn’t be any top dwellers(hatchets), fast movingnfish can cause problems(danios), and no fish that can get a bit nippy(tetras). So, I wouldn’t suggest it personally.

It could work I guess, every betta is different, he might be perfectly fine but he will probably chase and kill some of the other fish, also I know glofish and danios can nip his fins, which isn’t good for him or the other fish. I think it’s too risky, it won’t end well in my eyes.

Ok thanks

They are the glofish tetras, not the danios. I've heard the danios won't work with the betta, but what about the tetras?

You have a zebra danio right? Same thing as a glo-danio. I wouldn’t suggest bettas with skirt tetras either, they can be a bit energetic and nippy as well.

I agree that you shouldn't put him in, and I believe most hatchetfish (if not all) enjoy schools as well. I'm also pretty sure that zebra danios and otocinclus should have schools, so I'd get more of those three fish and leave your betta.

Are you saying Bettas don't like fast moving fish?

Most of the time, yes.

I've had my hatchet for around 2 years, and he has been doing well, and actually he swims a lot of the time at the bottom or middle of the tank, instead of the top. Some days he stays by the top, but most of the time he swims in the middle or bottom of the tank with the glofish and zebra danio. I've had the otocinclus since sometime in October-November last year and he's doing great. I've had the zebra danio since November-Decmber, I can't remember when exactly I got him.

Can I put my halfmoon tail betta in my 20 gallon community tank? In my 20 gallon, I have 6 glofish tetras, 1 zebra danio, 1 hatchet fish, 1 pleco, 1 otocinclus, and a 6-7 ghost shrimp. It's a 20 gallon high, and is 79F.
I would say no betta, seeing as you seem to have some stocking issues already. For example, typically plecos need a tank bigger than a 20 high, and otos need to be in schools of at least six. And I've never had any personal experience with glofish and bettas, but something tells me that the betta would not appreciate how bright the glofish are.

Ok, thanks guys. I don't have room for more otos and I am pretty sure I have a bristle nose pleco, that's what I asked for at the pet store and that's what the person put in the bag, and the person said they should be fine in a 20 gallon high. As a matter of fact, I have a friend who has a pleco that's around 6-7 inches long in a 10 gallon, and a ton of guppies and it's been that way for years and everything is fine.
