I know I can't with fish, because it changes the ph. I had found a live coral in Florida on a fishing place. It justs sits in a bowl, so I was just wondering if this would work. I am assuming it will not. Thanks!

Live coral will need a SW environment, and needs to be fed.
The newt needs a FW I don't think so. But that's just my opinion.

Is it still alive or more of the dried out kind?
I agree with amanda if its alive...and maybe check the ph requirements for newts if its dead?

It is still alive. I have had it for around a year I think.

Is it in a SW set-up?

No, I had it in a bowl.

This is what it looks like (kind of). Mine is a darker green and it is soft.
