ive seen some at Lowe’s and I’d love to grow it in my tank. I can’t find anything online about this so I was wondering if there’s something I don’t know about that makes it not safe?

you could put it in the tank, but you would need a thick layer of substrate. Possiby, you could put it in a pot. However, lotus plants get big. Too big formost almost every aquarium. Your looking at 4 foot diameter plants. Even with trimming, i don't recommend.

I would recommend them to all pond keepers, they fit better there.
You could try something like water lettuce or salvinia if you like lily pads on the surface of your water.

I've seen people put tiger lotuses in aquariums that were 30 gallons and over. That could work, but make sure that there is a good amount of substrate and nutrient rich substrate as well.
