Can I Keep The Shell?

I unfortunately lost two nerite snails recently. Both were very beautiful, is there anyway I can keep their shells? Would letting them just dry out outside work?

You may need to clean it, otherwise it can get kinda gross inside. But you can definitely keep it!

You'll have to get the meat out... Normally I put the shells I want to keep in the pond snail tank, and they clean it up, but you can also (this is gross, btw) put the shells in a plastic baggie with water for a few days, and after a few days if you shake it the meat should come out from what I've heard.
I'm very sorry for your losses, even with snails it can still take a toll.

Put them outside and let the ants clean them out. It won't take long. Then if you want them to look nice paint them with clear lacquer or nail polish but only if you're not going to put them into a tank.

Thanks guys! I’m going with the soak in water and shake method, since I don’t have pondsnails at the moment and live in apartment so there aren’t a lot of ants around.
