Can I keep several dwarf cichlid males together in one tank?

I am thinking of getting a tank of dwarf cichlids, but I was wondering if I can have all male dwarf cichlids in a 30 gallon tank, since they are the most attractive. Thanks!

Hi,
I really wouldn't recommend it with most types of Dwarf Cichlids. With Rams I think you could get a couple but with some like Apistos I don't think it would be a good idea. What were you wanting to get?

Maybe a few rams... I am not certain if I am even able to own a 30 gallon tank, since my mom is slightly hesitant, even though we don't have to pay for the tank itself, since my aunt has one she doesn't use. I am just doing my research to try to convince her. But anyway, I was thinking maybe a few rams, maybe a cockatoo cichlid or two, but I really want either an Agassiz or a Viejita Apisto.

A 30 gallon really doesn't have room for that many cichlids. I'd put in two pairs of fish max. Maybe three males. Two rams and an apisto perhaps. But some female Apistos are quite attractive looking. So you may want to look into that before you make up your mind.
