Can I keep Ramshorn snails in a big jar ?

Guppy777

Have a 200-300 rams in my 20 gallon talk and need to get rid of 90%. Can I keep the snails in a large glass jar for a week or 2 ? Do I need to add a airstone or small hob to the jar ? Don have problem in my 10 gallon guess the assassin snails and leeches keep them in check.

Toss some floating plants or fresh plant cuttings in and they'll be fine.

Wait so, how big of a jar are we talking? you want to put roughly 280-370 ramshorn snails into a jar for 2 weeks?

Seems wrong somehow, we talking like 1/4" - 1" full size ramshorns?

180-270 would be a lot in one jar, depending on the size of it, but maybe multiple jars. No filter or air stone required, but toss some plants in (moss and floaters are good options, or any column feeder plants). They are pretty darn good at keeping the jar crystal clean, if it gets murky or dirty looking then something is probably off (except for poop at the bottom, that's normal of course).
