I was going to make a breeder box but I didn't have the materials on hand to make anything that could work properly. I have a large net that I can keep submerged in the aquarium by letting the lid of the glass top hold it in place. Could I keep the fry in this net for an extended period of time until I am able to get a proper breeding box set up? I only have 2 platy fry.

A large net is usually larger than a breeder box so I would keep them in the net unless you can buy or make a larger box.

Keeping them in the net is fine.
