Can i keep 5 redtail shark in one tank?

AamirAlfaiz

Hello,
Can i keep 5 redtail shark in one tank. If possible which size tank is enough for this group?

Thank you

Well you need at least 50-55g for 1 so it would have to be a huge tank to possibly keep 5 without them getting too aggressive with each other

NahNah

I’d say 125g or larger, and you need lots of hiding spots for them to get along.

6 inches long

yikes

my upside down catfish is 5 inches and in a 55 gallon.

I wanted a 75 gallon but the cost jumps up - a lot more $$$$ for a base to support it

55 gallons are very small for that size fish

125 is about 3x the size, but IMO still too small. I'd go with 200 to 250 gallon if you want FIVE 6 inch fish as adults all in 1 tank.

Even juveniles are aggresive. I agree, not sure on gallons but at least an 8 foot long tank.

Its not really ideal to have multiple in 1 tank. Usually 55g is the absolute smallest I'd put one in. I had trouble with 1 in a 125g tank. you'd need a MASSIVE tank for multiple
