Can I keep 2 different types of Corys in the same tank?

Hello! I currently have 3 Albino Dwarf Corys in my 55 gallon tank. I love the Corys and their fun, energetic ways of maneuvering the bottom of the tank! I would like to add a few more, but love variety, so would love to add another type, perhaps Emeralds. Would this create a problem of any sort? They seem like such peaceful little fellas, but I don't want to stress them out by doing something that I shouldn't. I'm not a breeder, so it's purely a tank for visual enjoyment. Would love some thoughts, haven't seen this question posed anywhere else.

 

Different types of Cories can definitely live in the same tank with no issue. But in your case, Albino Cories are actually the same species as Bronze/Emerald Cories. So they would school together as one group!

HI Leeman75 yes keeping different types of cory in your tanks should be fine providing you have enough room

I would recommend keeping same specie Cory in groups of 6 plus though as they do better in larger numbers.

Thanks for that! I bought the 3 Corys about 6 months ago and had no idea about the groups of 6. The 3 have done fantastic and grown well, but knowing that they would likely be happier and more secure with 6, is a big part of why I'm contemplating adding a few more.

Bronze Cories are very commonly mislabeled as Emerald, so I assumed that's what the OP was talking about. But it's an important distinction to make, so thanks for mentioning it!
