Can i have shrimp?

I was wondering if I could get some shrimp for my 125g I have rainbows and two apistos. I don't know much about shrimp so any help will be appreciated! If I can get some shrimp what kind?
I do know I want to get a different kind of rainbow and some type of smaller catfish down the road for the tank, not sure if the catfish would eat any shrimp

From my experience, if they are small enough to fit in a fish's mouth, they are fish food, but this link will help.

we have amano shrimp in our 125gal, they were in our 75 with bolivian rams and angelfish for a while and no one ate them, we plan to have rainbow fish in our 125 as well, they should be safe, but I can't say for certain yet.

 

I have RCS in my 100 gallon, always hiding. From time to time you will see them.

Just make sure you have lots of places for them to hide and feel secure.
