hI everyone, I've just become a member of this great site and was in need of some advice.
I've only just started my tank over the last 6-8 weeks
its a 20 gallon freshwater tropical tank.
I am wondering everyones thought on black ghost knife fish and if one would be suitable for my mix of fish.
I know they need good cover, I have a treasure chest, a log and a drift wood cave set up already, as well as 2 live plants and 3 artificial.
my fish are: (and please comment on my mix)
2 pearl guarami
2 silver shark
1 rainbow shark
3 head and light tail
3 albino tetra
12 neon tetra
2 algae eaters
but ye, any advice for my tank would be appreciated

Your tank is already overstocked, so I would say no. Aside from that, they can grow to like 20 inches long - almost the length of your tank.

2 pearl guarami will out grow the tank, need 30gal minimum for 1-2
2 silver sharkwill deffinetaley out grow the tank, get to be HUGE and need ponds basically
1 rainbow shark^
3 head and light tailnot a clue what this is, if its a schooling fish it needs 6 of its kind
3 albino tetraneed 6 of their kind
12 neon tetrathey can stay
2 algae eatersanything but a BN, clown or bulldog pleco or otto cat will NOT fit.
but ye, any advice for my tank would be appreciated

That's my true advice.

I agree. Your tank is really overstocked as it is. And as Jaysee mentioned, they get huge so you would need a tank much much bigger than your current tank to house them properly. Sorry, I vote no as well.

They're probably already too big for the tank, unless they are really small. The problem is that once the fish is too big for a tank, it's long since been too big.

they are only about 2 inches though

It's important to consider the full grown size of the fish when stocking, not it's current size. a 2 inch gourami will not stay 2 inches, especially if you take good care of them..

They need to go now. Sorry but they do, for the fishes sake.

I agree its already overstocked both in terms of overall amount of fish for the tank and also in terms of the type of fish for the tank. There's just to much fish and fish that get way to big.

At this point I'd say return or rehome the inappropriate fish or make plans to get an appropriate sized tank sometime very soon.

Because the tank is so overstocked, they've outgrown it already. Sorry.
