can diy co2 turn toxic or poisonous?

Hi, I've been running diy co2 for almost 3 months and have only replaced the mixture twice in that time. I thought diy co2 was only suppose to last 2-3 weeks but for some reason i'm still getting a good amount of co2. Does the diy co2 mixture become poisonous or toxic after a certain period? Thanks for any replies.

yeast, baking soda and sugar. I don't measure my yeast and baking soda lol. 2 2ltr bottles with co2 proof tubing. I've got a guage and a needle valve on my bottles. I close it every night manually so there's always co2 the next day, even a quick shake of the bottles when I close it at night can give me roughly 10-15psI the next day. I can't remember exactly the last time I changed the mixture but I know it's been about a month now so I wondering if the gas is still co2 lol.

what will form is a mash of alcohol this would not be good for the fish if it were to somehow get put in the tank but the air coming off the mixture will only be as toxic as co2 is...

Cool. glad I have a bubble counter then. if I could get 2 months of co2 out of less than $1 of ingredients that I think diy is well worth the money.

Baking powder and baking soda are not the same thing. Some baking powder requires the heat of the oven in baking to release the co2.
