Fish is acting eating and pooping fine with no loss of colour, 3 days ago I noticed a lump come up on the side of the Male gourami, I have kept an eye on it, it doesn't appear to be getting larger or smaller but now he appears to be loosing scales and a black mark is on the top of the lump. I have tried to feed cooked de-shelled peas, which he eats but no improvement, and also fasting incase of bloating.
I have attempted to get a picture of the lump.

A201

Three possibilities, Cancerous Tumor, Benign mass, or Viral - Lymphocystis.
Unfortunately none of the above are treatable.

Thank you for getting back to me, that is sad news. Is it better to let it play out, or euthanise the fish? Is the fish in pain? Will he make my other fish unwell?

Don't think the tankmates are in any danger. A situation like that certainly isn't pleasant to watch. & probably worse for the Gourami.
It's always the keepers call reference euthanization.

I really appreciate your help, thank you A201.
