Calling all knowledgeable betta owners! I need help

My name is Molly and I need help identifying the disease on my betta! I posted a few pictures of my fish. He has had a whitish discoloration and white spots on his head for a few months. Only on the top of his head. When he first developed it, he also had an unusual rust colored patch on his head which is gone now... see picture below. His head resembles ground meat now because of all the white spots coming and going, leaving tiny holes in his head. The only other symptom is cloudy eyes. Sometimes he flares with only one side of his beard... but I know he has both sides still. I have researched for hours over the past few months. It doesn't seem like any of the common betta diseases: not ich, velvet, dropsy, fin rot, or body rot.

I have also tried treating him for columnaris with Furan 2 and Kanaplex, and spironucleus with Metroplex. No luck!!

Here's the kicker... My fish is behaving normally. He eats well, poops, flares, swims. No irregular swimming or floating. He even makes bubble nests.

PLEASE help me. It is killing me to not know whether he is healthy or not. Thank you.

It looks like excess mucous to me. Could have gotten injured and the body is trying to heal. Doing a 50-75% water change daily will dilute disease organisms and clean water will help it heal

I have done weekly water changes for the past few months, shouldn't that be enough? I'm not opposed to doing more WCs though!

It could be, but just like if we get a big cut we need to keep it exceptionally clean

I have found water changes are usually all that is need for most disease and meds are a last resort for me

He seems fine to me. I think the rusty then whitish spot on his head is just his coloring. As for the cloudy eyes, some bettas just genetically have them I think. You should still keep a close eye on him and keep the water clean. Indian almond leaves can also be very beneficial for him.
Also what do you feed him, how often, and how much?

I alternate feeding him Aqueon betta pellets and frozen blood worms with one day fast each week. For pellets I usually feed about 5. Roughly the same number of blood worms.
A agree that the rusty color was his natural color changing from white to black. But do you see the little white bumps? Are those normal too?

Do you think the dots could be HITH? I can’t really tell from the pictures. That’s also why I asked what you feed him because it can be caused by an improper diet.
