I bought this bn pleco as a calico female and I've had her for a month. I'm considering breeding her in the future as she matures. She's currently about 3 inches long. When should I start considering getting a male?

About now, three inches should be mature enough for spawning.

Thank you for the response! I'm considering breeding her with an albino, do you think that would be a good idea?

It shouldn't be a problem. Calico and albino are the same species, just different color forms. You'll probably get some calico and some normal unless the female has the albino gene in her. Of course I'm not sure, just a guess.

She is a brown bn. Will get brown with any other color unless she has a recessive gene of that color.
