Calculating how much light I have in my tank

I have a 30 gallon long freshwater tank. I have a T5HO dual bulb setup with one roseate bulb and one 6000K bulb.

How do I figure out how much wattage I have per gallon?

How many watts is each bulb?

Total watts of fixture divided by gallons in tank = WPG

I want to say they're both 39 watts, so I guess that would make it 2.6.

Would you call this low light? Med light?

2.6 wpg of T5HO is high light, usually.

Yes, I was encouraged to raise my lights up a bit because of this (I have subulata, moneywort, wendtii, and Indian sword in there- all low/med light plants as I recall). Is there any kind of wattage calculation for the height of lights over the tank? Or difference created by the tannin-tinted water or black substrate (less reflected light)?

Should I perhaps consider higher-light plants for a rescaping in the future?

There is a chart I will have to look for it, another option would be to grow a floating plant to block out some of the light, dwarf lilys and riccia may work. Butvthere are a lot of aweful pretty high light plants...

I still haven't a clue where the original post is but I have it saved to my computer. ;D Seems I foresaw my forgetfulness.
