buying cory catfish fry

I want to get cory cats a local breeder has fry and I was wondering can I take in young corry can't and put them in a 10 gall by themselves until they grow large enuff fore my community tank?? his survival rate is bad with fry so id like to get then wile they are young

what do you guys think

I don't know anything about cory fry but I should think a small group of them would be ok in a 10 until they're ready to move in with the adults.

they are about 1/8-1/4 inch right now can they handle the move? I might let them loos in my main tank it has plenty of cover maybe I should try 12 in-case some don't make it?

No, most if not all will be eaten if you put them in the main right away. Try to at least give them a few weeks in the ten. I think they'd likely be okay if handled gently, such as being shoo'd into a bucket with water for lifting out of the tank rather than netting them. I don't KNOW that, it's only my best guess.

I have a 10 gall qt tank to use just wandering if thet would be hard to feed/keep living at that small
