BumblinBee Will Draw Your Fish!

Hello there everybody! I'm still getting used to digital art, and I know I need more practise. I was thinking it would be a fun idea to provide you guys with some fun while I'm at it! I can't promise it'll look very good nor can I guarantee that I will finish the drawings, but I'll certainly try my best hah

If you are interested, give me a relatively good photo of one of your fish, preferably in an interesting or dynamic pose (I'll be using this photo as a ref for pose and colours, so choose wisely).
I'll be letting a randomizer choose whether or not I will be doing just a sketch, an outline, an outline with flat colours, or an outline with colours & detailing. Basically the quality and effort that you get will be completely random! (this shakes things up for me and means I don't spend 6 hours on every single drawing lol).

The photo should be roughly this quality or better:

IMG_0055.jpeg

Here is an example of the quality that I mean:

Sketch - (Sorry, I don't have a sketch sample)

Outline -

Outline + flats -

Screen Shot 2020-07-06 at 11.58.12 PM.png
Outline + flats + detailing -

Screen Shot 2020-07-06 at 11.58.51 PM.png

If I had more time I'd offer to do shading and backgrounds too-

Oooh, ages ago I used to do digital art, but I never got a drawing tablet and that is sooo hard to be smooth with a mouse. I respect your skill!!

Would/could you do a shrimp? I can do a photo in the morning.

Thank you! And trust me, I know! I'm currently borrowing a tablet from a friend because it has pressure sensitivity (which the cheap one I own does not), and even that has made it massively easier. Trying to draw with a mouse is impossible haha. I can attempt a shrimp, but I've never drawn one before it may not be very good hah
I would love to have u draw my fish thats so cool! Heres a ghost shrimp and a gsp
If it's alright with you I'll do the puffer rather than the shrimp (I'm more familiar with drawing fish hah)!

I have the same problem, only flipped! I cannot draw people for the life of me! Your betta is SO cute, I know she doesn't have all her colours yet but I kind of hope she keeps the ones she has, she's already so pretty

Alrighty, it's v late where I am so I will get started on these tomorrow! It may take me a few days to get to yours but I'll get there (hopefully lol)

Lol, Thank you!! I am also hoping she keeps these colors as well but if she changes it will be exciting! She has some blue shimmer in her fins which is gorgeous so she may have blue in the future.

You got outline + flats! I hope I got the colours right, it's always a little difficult to tell when it's a photo y'know. In case you (or anybody else) is wondering, I will probably do all of these drawings in full detail at some point in the future. So if you'd like, let me know if you'd be willing to wait for a final product (could be months from now, not sure when I will get around to it) and I can send it to you when it's completed!

Thank you!! The angel is next in line, I'm very excited about it! The randomizer gave me sketch for that one, but I'm going to make an exception because I think we all want to see that one in full detail haha. Oh, and you technically asked for a drawing first, so I need your photo!

Thank you so much Well, I've been drawing since I was like, 10? I'm 18 now, and I'm still not THAT good, I've got a lot of work ahead of me. I urge you to keep practising if it's something that you like doing.

These are definitely quality. You could make money with this. When I was younger, I had a Tumblr account, for a video game, primarily Sims3. Anywho, with that came in depth characters, and even full stories, acted out with still shots from the video game. This trend also uses PS and gimp all the time, and more talented folks would do commission drawings of other people's characters, charge a few bucks sometimes more if it was a huge or detailed piece.

Moral of the story: people would pay for cute drawings. These are so cute i'd even display the ones that are not mine, just because they are that awesome.

I know your practicing, but it's a thought for the future.

Awwww, send me a photo if you do decide to put it up, that would make my day! I just don't know how big of a market there is for this kind of stuff, and a I'm far cry from what other etsy and commission based artists can do. Many of my friends are artists (one of which does pet commissions that are way better than mine, if you're thinking of getting one done I'd recommend her, her name is alexkosteckasilva on insta), and they do commission work all the time. But they've also been doing digital art for years, I only started doing it this month. It feels a little premature to start selling anything, but I really appreciate your suggestion!

Aww, you're too sweet! Thank you for understanding, it is a little swamped here. If things slow down please leave a photo of your betta here, I'd love to draw them. I have to assume you made your avatar, it looks amazing! Do you post anything to social media? Deviantart, instagram? I'd love to follow up on your work.

Again, thank you so so much! I don't really share my art with other people, so I don't get feedback very often and the influx of positive and encouraging replies from you and everybody else has been a massive confidence booster. I'm not opposed to commission work, I could do something like my finalized example on the first post that has shading + background + maybe a little message if you (or anybody) is interested? But as I mentioned above, I just don't think I'm really confident enough to be boasting my art from a selling perspective. But thank you so much, it means a lot to hear people say that.
Oh oh please do mine!
Send me a photo! It may take a while, I'm doing these on a first come first serve basis so it may be a while before I get to yours!

I have tried countless times to draw my betta but I can only draw people lol. Here are some pics of her, she is still young so she doesn't have any color on scales. I kinda wanna go back to practicing fish again soon after seeing your post!

My randomizer gave you outline! If you are so inclined, you could use one of those online colouring page tools or an art program to colour it in! I wish I had the time to do it myself, but I'd never make it through all of these if I did each one in full detail. I hope you like it!
