Actually, I don't think you should do dwarf rainbowfish. They'll outcompete your dwarf gourami for food.

 

I just think they're too big and active for a 20 gallon long. At least from what I've observed. But then I am a give fish ample room kind of person. A 40 breeder or 55 is the smallest tank I'd put an angel in, haha.

Haha,, yeah I read 15 gallons is sufficient, so 20 long should be okay. I found a seller who is selling 8 by mail for 50$ including shipping.

Its not only the tank size, you have to think about the other fish. Dwarf gouramis are pretty slow and dwarf rainbowfish can easily outcompete dwarf gourami for food, thus starving the dwarf gourami.
