Building anew tank

HI all. My name is mike. I have kept aquariums for up to 15 years before giving them away. I have built one in the past it was about 60 gal. I still have some glass left and was want to build another one to be used for saltwater. My question is would a tank that size be a good starter tank for someone who is starting their first saltwater tank? Also some advice if u decide for some reasons to get out of haveing an aquarium, do not get rid of everything. I made that mistake and now I regret it.

What size are you talking? 60 Gallon? If so, it's a good size to start (3 foot?)

My 66G is 3 foot, and I have a great (IMHO) reef in the making. But that's my biased opinion

The bigger the better with Saltwater - so feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

Thanks Ryan. For now it will be a 60 gallon glass. Already have some fish in mind just have to find a web site that gives detailed information on them.

We've got most of the common species listed and detailed.

Also worth mentioning, if you're going to build your self, are you going to drill the tank ?

If so, I'd consider drilling before assembling, that way if you happen to crack a panel, it's easier than tearing it apart

I can't drill it. The glass is tempered safety glass. Which makes it great for an aquarium. The only regular glass will be the 2 side pieces they will be 18 inch square. Not sure if I should drill them. The whole tank will be reinforced by wood
