Hello Fishlore. I woke up this morning to what looks like a bunch of small bugs? They move! There's also these small greyish beige ones on one of my amazon sword leaves. What are they?? All I have in my tank is a betta. I had a single snail a month or two ago that lived for a day. Please help. Edit: I've had these plants for 2-3 months and never saw anything.

They might be baby snails, or freshwater limpets. I think Fanatic knows about freshwater limpets. Good luck!

So strange! I lightly rub off my leaves and decor biweekly when I clean and never noticed a thing! I'm excited to see what happens, thanks for the tip!

I was introduced to the idea that this lil guys could be limpets. They move. Ideas? Advice? Are they harmful? In this tank I have a male betta of 3 years, amazon sword and java fern which I've had for 2-3 months, and 2 months ago I had a single nerite snail that lived for a day. No idea how they got here or what they are. Some are dark brown/black, some bluish grey, and some are a grey beige. They cover many leaves and a decorative item in the tank. Pics attached.

I don't think they are harmful to aquarium fishes. Your betta might even eat them, but I'm not sure.

Yes, freshwater limpets. I used to have them for a while and then they disappeared after awhile. No harm to anything but if you crush them, your fish will eat them.

I sometimes have outburts of little buggy things in my tank. Do a water change and make sure there is not excess food. That has always worked for me. Most buggy things are not harmful to fish. They pop up when there is extra food to eat.
