Bug Type Objects

Hi, I was wondering what these bug type objects are in my aquarium and if theyre harmful to fish.. also if anyone knows what they are that would help a lot

 

They look like tiny snails

 

I swear i've seen something exactly like this on a thread months ago... I was going to say ostracods, but I don't think that's it. I agree that they do look like baby snails, but the shape is a little off. do they swim around? what is in your tank as far as fish and snails go?

They do swim around yes, also they feed in groups. And I have one blue coral gorami and 10 neon tetras not cardinal

 

okay!!! they are ostracods, just a different species than I was seeing pics of.

I found a video of them swimming around, and a webpage that describes different species/varieties (including yours).

they are a good cleanup crew and I think your fish should be able to eat them!

Also guys, as a side note and for something exciting my swordtail just gave birth to like 40 fry theyre one day old
