bug bombs

Hey guys not sure if this is the right place but we brought some stuff in from storage and are now infested with bugs and need to bomb between me and my mom and sister we have 6 tanks from 2.5 to 55 gallon my idea is to tack off the filters and canopy and wrap relay tight in tin foil is this good and for how long

 

You would be better off to cover the tanks in thick garbage bags, and tape it all up real tight.

 

you could also use moving shrink wrap. or the plastic carpet protector that is sticky on one side. Put the garbage bags on, then use the wrap to stick and hold it all together real tight. You know the stuff that comes on the big rolls with the handles at the ends? Might be easier and quicker on the 55 then using aluminum foil.

 

Ok I like the garbage bags and shrink wrap but how long will the air be good for if I leave a air pump on woulnt it just suck poisin in to the tank

 

I'm assuming you are using one of those bombs where you have to vacate for 48 hours or so?
Someone else may need to verify this for you, but perhaps turning off the air pumps won't be so bad for that period of time. I think I'd be concerend about leaving them on for exactly the reason you mentioned...

 

If you put the bags on loosely and then tape them up tight on the bottom you should be fine for several days. Definitely turn the air pumps off, or make them do that they can run out side. That's a whole lotta air line though! Either way should be fine though.

 

The bombs we are useing I are 4 hours but we are going out for 6 the night we do it so if the can be ok for days then I think were good but please keep the good ideas coming
