Not sure if this should be in Aquarium Stocking section or not, but I'm going to post it here.
So, I went to some new stores and found a bunch of Tanganyikans and others that haven't been available at the stores I had been to. One of the new fish was a buffalohead cichlid -- I had gone to those stores not only to see what they had in general, but also to see if any of them had any Tanganyikan Goby cichlids. One of them sometimes has it but not currently... but then I found the buffalohead.
First question: how many buffalohead cichlids can I have in a 75 gallon Tanganyikan tank? It'd be sharing the tank with Cyprichromis, Julidochromis, Neolamprologus and Altolamprologus. I read that you should get a group and wait for two to pair off, then move the remaining Buffaloheads, and then it says that if you want more than a pair, a 'very large' tank is required. They said this after recommending 30 gallons for a pair -- so is 75 gallons enough for more than a pair?
Second question: do buffalohead cichlids tolerate other bottom-dwelling cichlids like Julidochromis? 75 gallons should be a good size for the fish I want, but I don't want to rely on tank size to fix any of the problems I could've just avoided in the first place.
