Buffalohead Cichlid Questions?

Not sure if this should be in Aquarium Stocking section or not, but I'm going to post it here.

So, I went to some new stores and found a bunch of Tanganyikans and others that haven't been available at the stores I had been to. One of the new fish was a buffalohead cichlid -- I had gone to those stores not only to see what they had in general, but also to see if any of them had any Tanganyikan Goby cichlids. One of them sometimes has it but not currently... but then I found the buffalohead.

First question: how many buffalohead cichlids can I have in a 75 gallon Tanganyikan tank? It'd be sharing the tank with Cyprichromis, Julidochromis, Neolamprologus and Altolamprologus. I read that you should get a group and wait for two to pair off, then move the remaining Buffaloheads, and then it says that if you want more than a pair, a 'very large' tank is required. They said this after recommending 30 gallons for a pair -- so is 75 gallons enough for more than a pair?

Second question: do buffalohead cichlids tolerate other bottom-dwelling cichlids like Julidochromis? 75 gallons should be a good size for the fish I want, but I don't want to rely on tank size to fix any of the problems I could've just avoided in the first place.

These aren't compatible with rift lake cichlids. They're from the Congo river.

These aren't compatible with rift lake cichlids.
I read that they were. What is it about them that makes them incompatible?

Rift lake cichlids shouldn't be mixed with non-rift lake cichlids. There are aggression and diet issues. LeoDiaz can explain in more detail.

Steatocranus live in the currents, building their burrows under rocks. They come from a West African river that is notably softer than Lake Tanganyika, and they prefer slightly cooler temps. S. casuarius is actually a very mild tempered species, and is likely to be harrassed by many Tangs. Tangs don't like currents.

As for how many could be put in a 75, perhaps two pairs, but they would have to be watched. I have seen 6 inch males, so if they were to grow to full size, two pairs would be crowded.

And I think chromedome52 means two pairs could be put in an empty 75 gal, not with the rift lake cichlids you already have in there.
