Hello all. I'm slowly putting together a 55 gallon tank. Debating on which leds to go with for low to medium light plants. dwarf sag, crypts, swords, bacopa, s.repens, ludwigia, jungle val, java fern trident and a few others. I'm debating on the two following lights in the links. Does anyone have experience with the Nicrew full spectrum light or Beamswork FSPEC lights? Thanks in advance.

I hv the Beamsworks DA 6500k Pent light over my 40 breeder and it seems to be doing its job well. It’s growing my swords and crypts especially well. But it’s not FSPEC. Either way, if you do go the Beamswork route, I suggest getting the five row leds. It’s worth the money.

Here's my 37g tall with a NICREW:

It is a very clear white-blue light, and seems to have really good light penetration--a little bright up top so the fish are washed out, but by mid-to-low the metallic colors of my endler are vivid and better than I've ever seen them before. The octopus is going crazy, and the anubias (on the log) are thriving, even under a healthy patch of duckweed on the surface. Also in here are guppy grass and some java moss, also doing great. I have more plants to put in here--cryptos, buce, java fern, jungle val and some more anubias. My plan was to have mid-range plants on the rock or tall enough to come up to the light, and low-range at the bottom of the tank or lower reaches of the rock...but the light is doing well enough that I don't think mid all the way down would be much of a problem.

I have the one with the remote, which was a little more than the white-blue-off option, but worth it in my opinion. I was to ask for a Finnex 24-7 for Christmas and keep this one for a backup, but I'm so impressed I think I'm just going to keep using this one.

Neither!! Check out the Chihiros A series. IMO best budget light there is. Tons of bang for the buck. Good looking light, and can go from low light to high light. Lots and lots of power, you'll be able to grow pretty much whatever you want and won't have to take it above the halfway settings.

they don’t have that light for a 55 gal.

I’d go with the beamswork Da 6500k.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I didn't realize their was a Beamswork model a step above the EA, let alone two different kelvin options. I see there's a 6500k and a 10,000k. I'm leaning toward the Beamswork DA model. might as well for just $20 more than the EA model.... If I remember right 6500k would be more suitable for a planted tank opposed to the 10,000k right?

They do actually... But they're strong enough you could get a smaller size and hang it higher to get better spread.

I believe the chihiros can only work if using the stands on a rimless tank, but like Culprit said you can hang it. For a 55 gallon, a chihiros will probably have higher PAR values, and has adjustable levels so you can tone it down if needed. Between the beamswork and nicrew, you may be able to find PAR data through a google search.

That’s pretty expensive...

I chose the . $41 and free shipping to light up my 75gal isn't too shabby. Several youtube videos gave it good bang for buck reviews.

Of course there's always better, but better means better money.
