Budding Stem Plants

Most of the plants in my tanks are stem type plants...I was wondering if you can bud them (cut them back) in order for them to get bushier ? At the moment they are kind of tall...Also...if I were to bud them about 3 inches down from the new growth...can I replant the cutting ?

Bang on! Yes, when your stems get too tall take cuttings.

Hatchet's got the answer to your first question.
Yes, you can plant the cuttings. Strip the leaves off of an inch or two and sink it into the substrate, and the plant will grow from there.
