    Hey everyone,

I’ve started to notice brown spots in my 10 G planted tank - it’s on certain plants, on the driftwood, the rocks and on the glass.

Does anybody know what this is? And how to get rid of it?

Infos about my 10 G planted tank:

    - Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 5ppm
    - airstone running 24/7
    - mostly Anubias and Java Ferns
    - couple rocks and a piece of driftwood
    - using liquid carbon (API Co2 booster) dosed 1ml everyday, and liquid fert (seachem Flourish) dosed 1ml twice a week.
    - lighting is 7.5 W - on for about 12h a day

    Thanks IMG_0999.JPGIMG_1001.JPG

How long has this tank been set up?

My guess would be brown diatom algae. It may take a while, but it'll eventually consume all the silicates in the tank and die out itself. You can also manually remove, or get something like a nerite snail to help out a bit.
