Brown Spot and maybe Popeye on Betta?

I freaked out yesterday because I noticed a brown growth like spot at the top of my betta’s head. I made a thread, but I didn’t get responses, so for details and more pictures go to this thread: Please help!! - Brown Spot on Betta Help - | 458495 | Betta Fish
I was going through my pictures of him today and realized his eyes look a little bigger than they used to and he has a small line around his eye. I heard that that’s a symptom of Popeye.
He’s acting completely fine. The only symptoms of him being sick are him having fin rot, the brown spot on his head, and maybe Popeye. Anyone know what this could be? Do his eyes look like he has Popeye?

I think I’m going to start doing 25% water changes every day and I’m also adding Seachem Stress Guard. I’ll also get Indian almond leave today. Is there anything else I should do? I would really appreciate knowing what is wrong or if I’m just overreacting. Any help would be great.

Can anyone please help? One of his eyes looks a little bigger. Maybe swollen? Anyone know what the brown spot is?

Hey,

Your symptoms are similar to what my betta is going through right now. I've done some research and talked to my LFS and I'll share with you what I have found (and what I'm currently doing) but please note I am also dealing with this currently so I cannot attest to its effectiveness:

1. keep checking parameters throughout treatment (like everyday! esp when you start using antibiotics and the meds start killing beneficial bacteria; even if you use quarantine tank, since it would probably be uncycled, parameter checks would be imp-- I only have my betta in the tank so I'm just doing treatment in my main tank!)

Conservative treatment
2. use aquarium salt (note when you started to use it because you cannot keep using it indefinitely -- from what i found, a week-long aquarium salt in-tank should be max and then you have to stop it for a while and consider other treatments); also, keep in mind that it doesn't evaporate so you should not add 1 tsp every time, for example (first time: do 1 tsp; second time: if you do a 10% WC, then you only put 1/10 tsp to keep the balance, as assuming even diffusion 90% of the 1 tsp would still be in the tank)... please research carefully before using aquarium salt!

Mid-level treatment ** this is where I am right now
Tri-sulfa tablets (Blue Planet) -- I heard this would work if it's in its early stages. They're pretty expensive (but my LFS said 15-pack should last me!)

LFS also said I can couple it with the above and salt baths (using epsom salt in a 5L tank and dip your betta for 5 minutes) -- my LFS guy emphasised that I would want to stop fluid build up quickly so it doesn't lead to dropsy (and, frankly, I'm super scared! and I'm about to go to exam period so it's double the stress but this is where I am)

Extreme
So from my research tetracycline is the most extreme and potent treatment and hopefully you don't get to this stage. Blue Planet makes Aquacycline (which is tetracycline). But I hope the conservative treatment (or mid-level) works for you! I don't know much about this!

P.S. I've attached a useful poster I found online!

Good luck with treatment! I hope our bettas get better soon!

And I'm just throwing a suggestion here but could the brown spot be velvet?

Ty! I’ve been doing 50% daily water changes and the brown spot seems a tiny bit better and the Popeye might look better too. I’ll try to take another picture later to compare. I check my water everyday and I was thinking of using aquarium salt. I did give him a sat dip for his fin rot before I noticed all of this. I also don’t think I want to treat him for Popeye with Epson sat or medication since it could of possibly been from water quality and I’m not 100% sure it’s Popeye.

And I'm just throwing a suggestion here but could the brown spot be velvet?
That’s what I was thinking, but he’s showing absolutely no symptoms, but I’m worried now he’s being a little lethargic. Do you have a picture of your betta? What else do you think it could be?

Update:
I accidentally missed 2 water changes , but he seems to be getting better I think. Specifically his fins. They are still pretty torn, but they look so much better now. The brown spot hasn't changed and I think his eyes look a little better. I'll attach updated pictures later.

Update:
His eyes are back to normal, but he still has the brown spot on his head and now the same brown spots are on my anubias? The only new thing I had in the tank was some hornwort, but I removed it weeks ago. Any ideas on what this could be?
