Bronze vs Albino Corydoras Catfish

So I've always said that I wanted to have an equal number of bronze and albino corydoras catfish in my tank but recently I'm actually preferring the bronze variety over the albino. Will my albino cories be okay if I get 4-6 more bronze cories but not anymore albinos?

It would mean that I have 6-8 Bronze Cories and 2 Albino Cories in total, but I think the larger group of just bronzes would look much better in my tank than a mix of both, especially because I have light sand. The albinos just seem to fade into the background.

So what are your thoughts?

 

They should be fine if the albinos are c. aeneus as they are the same species as the bronze, just a different color morph.

 

They are both c. aeneus so that's great Thank you! I just wanted to double check I wouldn't be upsetting the group. Is 10 always a better number than 8? I think it'd be pretty cool to see 8 bronze cories swimming around with their 2 albino friends

 

As large a group that your tank has room for is always best for corys. If your profile is accurate, 10-15 would be fine.

 

So would this stocking be alright in my 63g:

1 Sailfin Molly (male)
6 Guppies
15 Harlequin Rasbora
11 Neon Tetra
15 Corydoras Catfish (13 bronze, 2 albino)
Red Cherry Shrimp

Or with the other fish should I reduce the corydoras catfish to 10. I think I have room but I'm worried about my filtration more than anything.

 

I think that stock is perfectly fine. Just make sure you have all male livebearers so you don't run into issues with the constant fry.

With canister filters, you could get away with 5x the total filtration for your tank size so you are right on that mark. You could always add on another filter with a 200gph flow rate.

 

What filter would you suggest? I have a fluval 306 at the moment. I also have a fluval u2 that I'm not using but I don't think it's as much as 200gph. It's a planted tank as well, I don't know if that makes a difference.

 

The two filters combined should be enough filtration esp with the stock you're planning.
