Broken seal frozen Mysis

Noticed my Mysis shrimp seem to have slightly broken alluminium seal from the store.
Looks like they have leaked a bit. Green/black juice.

Likely safe to feed anyways?

Chopped off the 2 outer rows on the leaking part just incase, but curious.

Thanks!

They still look frozen so I’d feel comfortable feeding still IF the other side is sealed . If not I’d Chuck what you’ve cut off personally. Could it be possible another packet has leaked on to it ?

Its leaked through the outer cubes. Went ahead and chopped the two outer rows.

If the seal is broken and there is sign of leakage, it may have gone through a thaw-refreeze cycle. That can be bad. If you can do a smell test, does it smell alright?

Yeah, smells like shrimp.
Cut away the leaked area. Likely not fully thawed, I know it goes a tiny bit liquidy rather fast.

I assume bad isn't like instant death to 125 gallon tank?
Doesn't smell rotten, so probably is fine. Would prefer not tossing it.

Bad is like when we eat spoiled meat. Can be from mild discomfort to internal infection or poisoning. I had a similar situation, forgot the frozen food bag outside for a day or so. Now I am feeding in small amounts with other food, like I divide a cube between tanks so they get a few bites of frozen food, while I am actually feeding dry food. If the fish looked unwilling to eat or spit it out, I would stop.
However, in my case I know how long it sit outside and under what conditions.

Should be fine then. Usually if it doesn't smell like death, it won't cause death.
And if they at worst risk a tummy ache, they will eat the darn mysis ;)
