About 5 dayz ago I bought a bristlenose. I hav a few qwestions about them. is it just mine or do they all produce a lot of waste cause mine seems to poop a lot.

And also mine just sits on this fake rock decoration and dosn't clean the algae off the glass which iz why I got him. itz nearly been a week and the glass still hasn't been cleaned.

and ive heard u can feed them cucumber, how do you do this? do you hav 2 boil it or can u just wash it and put it in the tank.

Most pleco produce copious amounts of waste. What are you feeding him? Maybe your feeding him too much What size tank is he in?
Callum I have to respectfully disagree In my experience Bristlenose are tank cleaning machines. Glad I've had better cleaning experience with mine than you have.

If you haven't fed him or he didn't touch the cucumber and he's pooping lots and not dead then he's eating something

you might have a lazy fish, I brought 1 for the same reason, hes only 1.5 inches
but he keeps my 3ft tank spotless.

they like to chew on it, I also feed mine algae wafers, if the algae is giving u the sh**s get a snail
or something, iv just got 1, dunno wat sort its is but there a 24/7 eating machine.
maybe get another bristlenose if uv got room, can't hurt.

I found the best way was to use a rubber band and put a piece of zucchinI wrapped around a nice rock and put that in the tank they loved it. I breed my bristle nose a few times they were great I wanna get some more again now I'm back into it.
