I recently purchased this Bristlenose from a local pet shop. I’ve never seen a Bristlenose with this coloration before. It’s orange in colour with some spatterings of black. Does anybody have any information about Bristlenoses being this colour? Or is it even a Bristlenose?

That color variant is usually called calico or red calico (yes I know, they call orange red, its weird).
Unless your fish is still really small it looks like you have a female as there are no whiskers showing.

I have some that would be considered calico and some marble, as well as some that are nearly clean that would be called "dirty reds".
I have a new spawn of 1/2" babies right now as well, it is a fairly nice but slightly uncommon (not rare, though I haven't seen any around me so I would be one of the only breeders around me for them at least).
