Bristle Wroms

Since I moved the first living creatures into my new 60 gallon tank, I have had these bristle worms witch came on the live rock I have in the aquarium, attack my animals. The first day, I looked into the tank and a giant bristle worm attacked my snail, I scared it away though. It was about 10cm long, haven't seen it since, but I have had other smaller bristle worms attacking my soft corals. A small bristle worm had found a hole in the live rock near my mushroom coral. The mushroom coral is normally open, even at night. It was open before I turned the lights of, and I saw this wired blue-white thing around it's mouth, I almost 100% sure this isn't caused by bristle worms but I want to know why it suddenly appeared on my coral. Then after I turned the lights of I came back after about 6mins and the coral was closed and the little bristle worm was around it, I scared the bristle worm away and the coral re-opened.

there is a hole in the coral now

I believe they make traps for them or you can get fish that are known to eat them like a 6-line wrasse depending on your tank size and inhabitants.

I think manual removal is your best immediate solution. A red flash light is helpful for catching these guys as they come out when the lights are off. The red light will allow you to find them without scaring them off. A long pair of tweezers to grab with would be good too.

We have a blue star leopard wrasse in our aquarium, I don't think it hunts bristle worms though

in that case I wouldnt add a 6-line wrasse as they are known to harass other wrasses.

get fish to eat them. Just when you do, most of them are picky eaters, so if you are going to keep the fish you use to get rid of the worms, make sure to supports its diet
