I've been given an old Marineland Eclipse 3 gallon and I was wondering if/how I could setup a sustainable brine shrimp tank. Like what would I need and stuff?

I'm not sure what you mean by sustainable? I've never heard of raising brineshrimp...full time...eggs to adults and then breeding them.

Brineshrimp eggs are normally just hatched as fry and small fish food. The adults are usually frozen or freeze dried for larger fish food.

I don't believe it would be a practical or worthwhile project for small scale. They are found in very salty water and I think the eggs need to dry and have a dormant period.

Is that what you want to do? Raise them to adulthood? Or are you just trying to get food for your small or baby fish like Ted was saying?

I guess I had a brain fart when I asked this question. What I ment was how do I turn it into a brine shrimp hatchery. Also on a side note I wanted to know if it was possible to use it to house ghost shrimp and breed them for my bigger eaters.

Hello Franky,

I've moved your thread to the Shrimp/Crab section of the forum.
Thanks!
