Breeding Panda Cories?

I want about 8 panda cories in my 29-gallon community tank, I was wondering if it is a good idea to get a male panda and a female (Or 2 females), and let them breed instead of just buying the 8. I am new to fish keeping and have never bred any fish before so I want to try breeding but if it is not a good idea with panda cories than I won't do it.

What size are you getting them? Are they easily sexable? You will need good quality food. Preferably live to condition the males and females. And the more females the better. You want a ratio of 1 male per 2-3 females ideally. I honestly don't know how hard they are to spawn, but once they spawn it isn't extremely hard to raise the fish if you prepare everything. The eggs need to separated from the parents and put into a container iwth an airstone and methyelene blue, once they hatch fry are moved into a raising tank, they will feed on their egg yolk for 1-2 days. The fry need to be fed tiny foods like infusoria and microworms. Once they are big enough to can start feding other stuff.

If you can't even sex the fish (which often times you can't because they are juveniles) I would just get the 8 corydoras. If you can sex them out, are willing to keep live cultures going, to do frequent water changes, often times daily and have a plan as to which tanks you will use to raise the fry, then try it out. Altough do your own research because I just resumed it all up.

I will get them from my LFS and they get new shipments every Tuesday, so I am not sure what the size will be. I am also not sure if they are easy to be sexed, this will be my first time breeding any fish. One thing though, I do not have a separate tank, but I heard from another member on here that they will be fine in a breeder box. Thanks for all the info.

If the breeder box is big enough you can probably do it.
Fish will probaly be far from full grown and not in the best conditions so breeding sexing them will be just a guess game.
With all honesty I think you are sub-estimating breeding. If you could just get 2-3 of the more expensive corydoras and breed them everyone would be doing that! Paleatus and Aeneus seem to breed sometimes with no additional care but pandas are a bit trickier as far as my understanding goes.

Pandas are very hard to breed from what I've heard. All corys are actually. That's one reason they're so expensive. Also difficult to sex. About the only way you can tell is to view them from above. Females are more plump with shorter fins.

Corydoras are not exactly hard to breed... They are just tricky lets say. Corydoras that have been bred in captivity for centuries now like Bronce Corydoras or Corydoras Paleatus are easy to breed. Newer species of corydoras not so much, some of them need daily water changes with cooler water after conditioning to trigger spawning.
