I guess I am very fortunate; I have baby cichlids all the time.
I started with Yellow (electric) pair; the first ones I picked were male and female and I got babies when they got old enough; then I got a pair of Acei (blue) and again I was lucky and got babie.
Fortunately I have a biology teacher who sets up a lot of tanks at his school and he takes the babies. These are in the 75 gallon tank; I sometimes feed the cichlids baby guppies or mollies to give them fresh meat.

Look closely at the fins and you should be able to tell if you have male and females
Good luck.
