50 Gallon Tank Breeding common goldfish

fishot

when I was little kid, I had a common and a comet goldfish in a 40 gallon tank. I was a complete novice but I must have done something right because one day I woke up and found the comet goldfish furiously chasing the common goldfish. they would stop and rest in the hornwort plants for about 3 seconds and then continue the chase. my first instincts were to grab my net and try to separate them, but good luck trying to sperate two crazed goldfish with a hand net!

in the end, I saw huge clumps of eggs stuck to the entire aquarium... I was only able to salvage about ten, the rest where eaten; but even after they hatched, I didn't manage to feed them properly...:( they didn't make it... needless to say, I didn't handle that to well.

now, some time later, and a whole lot of experience in the way of aquaria, my two black moors are in the mating mood. what food do you suggest?

some use DIY hatch daphnia eggs, there's a bunch of videos on youtube.

some feed a bit of cooked chicken egg yolk. (Dexter's World youtube).

you could crush up some goldfish pellets.

I didn't know that their mouths were big enough to eat crushed flakes...

crushed into a powder form, like with a pestle and mortar.
