Breeding Blue Tarzan guppies

Hello,

I saw a picture of some Blue Tarzan guppies and decided I needed some. I hope to raise more. Of course I ordered them before doing any research, so I was wondering if anyone is familiar with them. I know some guppy strains are relentless fry hunters (albino koi guppies, I'm talking about you), while others bother them very little, if at all.

Sorry I have no experience with that bloodline of guppy.

I suggest as you are paying good money for a small number of fish and “ hope to raise more “ at first every fry counts. You should remove any fry as soon as you see them. In no time at all you will be trying hard to separate males and females.
My experience with other fry is that the healthy young juveniles just learning to be a fish are the ones more likely to try and hunt anything that moves/ wriggles.. I suggest it’s the teenage fish that are likely to be the biggest risk to new born fry.
In no time at all you will be able to answer your own question. Given people say every Betta has its own personality could the same not be said for guppies?

I can’t help myself I have to offer a link to this British Comedy group. Are you familiar with Monty Python‘s work ? “ From the movie the meaning of life. This short song is how I feel about livebearers when you first get them .

The Blue Tarzan guppies are actually Blue moscow guppies with the koi gene. From all koi guppy strains I've had, just the albino koi (blond based) were fry eaters. Moscow guppies leave their fry alone from experience.
I had these Blue Tarzan guppies as well and they left their offspring alone. But to me they looked a bit too much like the blue moscows, that's why I sold them.

Thank you. That makes me feel better.

I thought maybe an update was in order. I ordered some from an online source shortly after posting the above. Unfortunately they arrived during a very cold spell, though I had told the seller that I was happy to wait a week or so for better weather, and they all arrived dead. I contacted the seller and received a prompt refund.

I waited until the weather was quite a bit warmer, then reached out to the seller asking if he'd like to try again, but never got a response. I started looking around for another source and found a store in Houston that had them, so I went there this past Sunday and got two trios. They were 20% off, so I got them for just over $60.00, including sales tax.

I took them home and put one trio in a 20 gallon tank and the other trio in a tub outside. I assume the females weren't bred since the males and females were in separate tanks in the store, so it will likely be a while before I see fry. Anyway, wish me luck.

I tried getting pictures last night, but between them not cooperating by holding still for a second and my poor photography skills the results were very poor. I'll try again later.
