Breeding angels

Hi,

Basically my angels have laid a lot of eggs. They have been laying eggs consistently for a good while now and I would consider them to be a mature breeding pair. But for the first time only I have moved them into a separate tank to ensure that no other fish can eat the eggs. I have done research on what to do and what will happen but I was just wondering about water changes. Could I continue to do water changes in the tank or will this disturb the parent fish and spook them into eating eggs.

Thank you for replying in advance

James.

It could, I'd hold off on the water changes if possible. If you're looking for them to parent raise you'll want as little commotion around and in the tank as possible. This means when it does come time for water changes you'll want to use the least intrusive method possible. Feeding them while changing water helps, it gives them an alternative to eating eggs/wigglers/fry.

Just a question but have the eggs colour ever been a sort of Amber colour or are the eggs always white, if it's only been white than that means that they are not fertile. There have been cases where angelfish will lay eggs even with no male around but with two females. So if the eggs are infertile, check to see what genders your angelfish are.

No the eggs have always been fertile and the fish are male and female.
