Breeder RCS Tank

I wanted to share my breeder Red Cherry Shrimp tank with you guys. It's a 20 High with ONLY guppy grass which has taken over the entire tank. The only other plants are duckweed, naturally, and lucky bamboo (dracena).

This tank also has Chocolate and Orange-Spotted Tylomelania snails in it as they destroyed plants in my 40 gallon and I don't care if they destroy the guppy grass since it's so invasive. Lots and lots and lots of MTS as well.

I need to introduce new shrimp soon to bring new genes into the pool, so to say.

Photos!

Feeding time!

Wow! Lots and lots of shrimp. Very nice looking tank! How on earth do you catch them out of there?

wow, that's a lot of grass! and holy heck there's some shrimp in there!

I would guess you just reach in and swish the net around and get enough haha

Yup, the net is how I catch them. I put the water in a bowl and just dip the net into the bowl and they come off easily. They don't get entangled or anything like fish can with their scales.

What are you running for filtration on there?

Just a normal Top Fin 20 Hang On Back filter. However, it has this craft mesh "pre-filter" of sorts that I made so that plants wouldn't clog up the intake and it helps prevent shrimp from being sucked up the intake.

This is what I'm talking about -

Very nice shrimp! It must be cool to watch hoards of them them swim around the tank.

hopefully the mesh is enough to stop them from getting sucked in. or are you just wanting to chance it, and if some get sucked in , oh well...

Lol, it's been on there for about nine, ten months.

Just look at how many shrimp there are. It works.
