Breed Of Betta Or Something Else?

I got this male betta from petco as a baby, so I didn't know what kind of betta it would be. His foms have been growing and I've had him for 4 months now. I decided to watch him in his tank today and saw that indent on his back fin. Is it because he may be a type of betta, or is it because of something else?

 

Is back fin should not have that indent. It probably ripped. It looks like it should grow back if you maintain water quality.

Try to make him flare. If his back fin reaches 180 degrees, then he's a half-moon. If less, then delta.

Do you think it's because of the plastic decor I have in there? I tried to make sure I didn't get anything sharp when I bought them
