Breanna's Journal

I've got no idea where these all should go. As a *slightly* wordy journal on my experiences and along with aquarium, invertebrate, crustacean, canid critters I really want to share my ongoing explorations and random events that take place.
If some stuff I've covered is written as its own thread I will link them in this or other posts.
Links:

Also a quick entry to this that I need to cover on my water source. Turns out in Calgary getting from point A to point B with planted aquariums is slightly different, you may argue it isn't but our water is composed of a different chemistry than other places (I'm not going to tell the source of info unless it is required). Also it IS confirmed that my sink cannot use the Python syphon. I didn't look for myself but mom said the threads don't match, perfectly expected of our 20 year old kitchen sink. The bathroom sinks don't have threads at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Last night I finally got to touch the platies/platys.....

They are very dense. Not the scale but if you ever touched a guppy, you know how soft/squishy their flesh is. Yeah um a platy's flesh is fairly dense. I mean platys and guppies that are alive...

One time while I was removing snails I nearly killed a platy. I don't know how but I knocked the floating driftwood board and one of my platys ended up on top of the wood. Luckily I noticed him (it was the trans Blue Mickey Mouse Platy) and flipped the board over to plop him safely into the water.

Bloopers of fish keeping am I right? ^w^"

Sebastian loves attention he's ok with my hand in fact he's fine with me giving him some chin boops. He has opened his mouth around my hand but it's more like "gimme food!" and not like "go away I'm emo" signal. He is such a good betta, I love him to death.

I still need to upload that "I can't tell the difference" gag about Iycho. Yeah I doomed him/sealed his fate by naming him after a character from corpse party that gets killed.

YoshikI is like the weirdest thing, he wants attention (or food) but doesn't want anything to do with my hand. He isn't terribly picky compared to how picky Iycho was.

Bettas are super fascinating, always full of personality and surprises. d(^u^)b

I thought me not going to 2 of of my grandfathers’ funerals was bad but the guppies proved me wrong, lol.
The remaining or only straight female platy died over the course of last night. She was having issues delivering and I don’t know if it’s because of the every other day feeding. Maybe because they are so flat they have issues delivering like French Bulldogs have? In terms of a tight opening.

My guppies keep trying to eat the platy’s corpse and I’ve witnessed them doing this to guppy carcasses too. It’s recent so it must do with feeding.

One of two pros about keeping ramshorn snails is they’ll eat the dead bodies for me (very helpful for when I’m away).

Fish are so silly and strange I love ‘em all.

I got 4 1/2 hours of sleep *flop*.

Ok so I was going to buy some junk for myself using my debit card at the dollar store/Dollarama. My total came to $22 Canadian dollars. Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm insufficient balance... Yeah I got robbed of my 400 bucks over the course of this year. The only main purchases aside from NY Fries and EB Games (Canadian Game Stop) there should be just Patreon pledges and pets stuff that was taken out.

My remaining money vanished TODAY via PlayStation stuff I didn't purchase and 2/3 purchases were emailed to my mom. The money for those purchases were supposed to be on mom's card. I didn't buy anything on the PlayStation, my brother did.

I really wanted that money for my animals and room stuff (minI shelves, containers, etc.). I'm still fumed because I was prepping for the cute hermmies I'll be getting soon.

So I actually used most of the money aside from the 3 recent transactions we found out who did it. Never leaving my purse out in the living room again. One thing within the 22 bucks I was about to spend (luckily mom paid for them), was a bike saddle bag that after the previous post I handed to my father as a late birthday gift.

Aside from bringing two jumbo packs of gummy eggs and frogs to school, the strangest thing I did on Friday September 13th (last week) was bring my pet slug named Lug Nut with me to school. I had him in a portable enclosure with plants and moss to absorb the CO2. I do have pet slugs now but I think hermit crabs will have to wait a few years. One time while heading into Social Studies I see my friend crouched behind the door blowing into the muzzle (tube part) of a dog toy's squeaker.

I stuck my entire hand into Sebastian's tank and he decided to rest in my palm. He's such a sweet betta, always wanting affection. I think he sees me as a person and not a hand.

Last week my dad broke his hand almost 5 or so years after his last injury on exactly the same hand. Would've been ironic/funny if his middle finger was the one that broke, mom's middle finger on her dominant hand broke many years ago. The doctors plus WCB want him to work when it's on his dominant hand.

I always have absurd or random stuff happen almost everyday. :3

Sebastian loves his play time and I still am weird.
This morning I'm like "I wonder what a snail's raspy tongue feels like". I stuck my finger into Shallow the ramshorn snail's tank container and got it on my finger. It feels weird. Stupid things happen when I'm near the idiot know as myself.
Want exfoliation? Stick some snails on your hand.

Mom finally let be bring the isopods inside, but they can only be in the downstairs living room. Not the warmest area but certainly a lot warmer than outside. I captured isopods on Thursday while I was sick. The first time outside catching them I was wearing just a night gown (a pajama/indoor clothing dress). Second and third time I wore a hoodie over top but as I was taking the isopods in those two times I noticed them bundling/balling together. Poor things, I'm just glad I rescued some wild ones so they can live a suitable life.

Another thing that happened this morning was mom asking if I stuck my finger in an electrical socket. My hair was that fluffy.
