This mornings menu was Presoaked Freeze Dried Krill, Blood Worms and fresh raw ZucchinI stuffed with algae wafer. All marinated in diluted water, Garlic Guard and Vita Chem.

For the veggie lovers...fresh Romaine Lettuce. Yummmm Nice and crisp and green!

Doh! Did I forget to mention this was for my fish?

LOL Thanks BB.

Today was water change day for everyone and treat day too.

I make sure everyone is fed well without over feeding. I declare they know it's treat day when I show them the bag of Krill or Freeze Dried Earthworms, compared to their staple pellets. I always get soaked on treat days!

HI Ken,

Just wondering if I can feed my tetras, barbs, corys and torpedo with zucchinI or lettuce as well? Or does it only work for big fishes?

Any special tips in the preparation? Or can I just cut the vegge into small pieces and throw them into the tank? Can I use capsicum in place of zucchini?

Cheers,

Andre

Good morning Prototype,

You can try feeding your fish a variety of veggies. Make sure they are sliced small enough to fit into the fishes mouth. Just try a few pieces of veggie at a time and see how they react.

Some veggies you may need to blanch or boil just a minute or two to soften them up a bit. Make sure they have cooled before feeding them to your fish.

As for cucumber, zucchini, Romaine lettuce, all I do is rinse them, weight them down and drop them in the tank.
I slice the cucumber and zucchinI round about 1.5" thick.

I have never tried Capsicum (assuming the meaning is Bell Pepper). hmmmm not sure I would try any type of pepper though. Burp! They give me indigestion!

Good thinking! Haha! Although where I come from Bell Peppers are considered non-spicy

I feel bad for feeding my fish such a large variety of flakes and pellets now
I'm sure your fish believe they are in heaven on such days.

Gasp! GemstonePony! lol

I'm sure your fish appreciate the variety of dry foods, flakes and pellets. Try giving them some meaty foods, on occasion (Krill, Earthworms and so on. I use freeze dried, pre-soaked)

Let me wake Chef to fix y'all some breakfast!

Ok, Chef is up and fixing you folks steak and eggs.

HI Ken,

What do you normally use as weight for the veg? I do not want to put anything that will affect the fish in there.

Hello Prototype,

I use plant anchors and keep a supply of them on hand.

Some folks use veggie clips:

As for cucumber/zucchinI slices, I've seen mention that some folks just use a fork.

Hello Knostargirl

Let us know how the Fish Cookies turn out. I bet the fish enjoy them! Too, if you want to create a thread in the fish food section with your recipe, that would be great too!
