Bought My Wife Flowers... (airstone/fert Question)

Questions, not fish tank related but sorta.

So I buy my wife flowers quite often. She gets them and puts them in a vase with water and they last a few days or more until they start to get crummy.

I'm wondering. Would throwing an extra airstone I have laying around in the vase with her flowers help them last more than a few days?

Also, I use Thrive as my liquid fert for my aquarium. I'm wondering if I put a small drop of Thrive in with her flowers, would they benefit from the ferts just like my aquatic plants do?

I put a splash of rum in! Seriously. Makes my cut flowers last wayyyy longer. Like a week +.

That’s just a waste of booze...rum and vodka belong in people’s blood stream not a bouquet of flowers that will wither away eventually.
