Bought my Mum a boy Betta

Mum's birthday so went to buy the male she had seen, it had been sold ( within an hour of us rining up to see if he was still there!) Went to other hop to get my oto's and there was one male! They never have them so I said it was fate. He is here in a 5 gallon on mum's comp desk. He's handsome, active, has eaten well fins look good, no BAD signs TG. ( he has blue eyes!!) The water looks cloudy though, not sure why. Temp is 80.

He has a pearl colour body with red,blue and green tints. Red head and finnage. No name as yet, please send him positive thoughts so he will have a good life here.

Good plan.. I'm going to have to do this I will.. maybe for christmas leave the tank to cycle while were away and when we come back she can go and choose a betta from the LFS

He is stunning. Lots of gold on him today and sky blue tips to his tail. He's playing in the filter stream at the moment.

lol.. they sure love to do that and it's so fun to watch, especially when the fluff out their fins when doing it. Where's those pics? we gotta have them - please, please, please?

 

This fish is NUTS!!

I'm on mum's pc and he's here throwing himself into the flow, bouncing off a plant and then around tank to start again!! Mum has named him now, she was worried about naming him and getting attached. He is 'Flame' aka Fruit loop as I call him!

I'll try to get a pic now if not tomo for sure.

Ok here he is. You can see blue tips on his tail and his blue eyes in one of them.

 

lol.. you have a fiesty guy on your hands there.. Aslan is like that.. he loves going against the flow.. showing off his fins, flaring at we don't know what.. he can't even have live plants as he is merciless to them.. but we love the little guy and he loves his betta mommy and always does the betta dance when he sees her.. your mum will totally be in love with Flame!

Taz............he is a winner for sure! My Storm also loves to play in the flow from the bio wheel! It is so funny because when I brought him home, I put him into a small hex Q tank, heated, undergravel filter, and he hated the bubbles from the stone. Even when he was risen from the dead, waiting for his tank to cycle, he hatedthat thing. Now he goes crazy in it, and if I am talking to him, he always has to swim in and out of it to show off. Looks like your Mum just might have a little turd smart aleck guy also!!! They are the best!! You will have to introduce her to Fishlore now!!

Silver, violet and jade ... sounds romantic to me .... and just like what AJ looks like in the daylight. He is my little one that changes colors all the time. Perhaps Flame will have the same color changing ability too. It was wonderful that you got your mom a betta. They are lovely companions and can get even us olders hooked.

Thank you. He likes to play in the filtr flow so we were considering putting an airstone in for him, I know my Guppies love theres.
