The other day I went to a LFS and bought a plant called borneo java fern, and when I came home I realized I knew nothing about this plant. I have a T5 light do you guys think this will be good enough lighting for it?

Is this a "borneo fern"? If so, I'm afraid that this is not an aquatic plant.

Java fern will definitely grow submersed, but I've never heard of "borneo java fern".

I've never heard of Borneo Java Fern. I think it is more likely that you have Borneo Fern (Trichomanes Javanicum) which is not an aquatic plant. It will only survive for a short time completely submerged no matter what conditions you provide. It needs to be grown with the leaves out of the water. Can you post a photo so I can ID it for certain.

Actually what you have been sold is Borneo Fern(Trichomanes javanicum) which are non-aquatic.

Good morning,

I tried the Borneo Ferns in one of my tanks, they did not survive.
