Bolivians vs Germans

I have a 20 high all ready set up and cycled. Which would be easier to care and breed.

Welcome to FishLore!
Personally in a 20 gallon high I would put Germans because they are smaller and would fit better in that size tank. Bolivians are larger and, IMO, would do better in a longer tank.

I agree with RougeAgent. I think you would also like blue rams better, I think they're much prettier.

I heard Germans aren't as hardy and aren't very good parents. Is this true? Also, if they aren't very good parents does this mean they will eat their fry or just not care for them?

Still waiting for my GBR's to pair up so can't comment on their parenting ability but have had no problems losing them.Agree with Nippybetta about them being prettier. I think the Bolivians are a bit more aggressive also.:

GBRs are really sensitive nowadays. The inbreeding weakens their immune system. But I would agree that if you can find a healthy GBR or a pair, then go for it. They would work better in the 20 high.
Most cichlids will eat their first batch or two of eggs. Its nothing really to worry about.

Ok. One of my LFS that I think are very good as their prices with the quality of fish they have. They have blue and gold german rams. I'm not sure which to get.

I would get blues. Golds are less hardy IMO.

Golds are cool, but I think the might be a little more delicate. I think you should get what you like best, but be sure to do your research thoroughly so you can meet their needs.
