In my 10 gallon, I would like to add a bolivian ram with my 6 neon tetras. The tank is planted with rotala and some java fern. There are some hiding places because I have a piece if wood in there. Could I add a bolivian ram? Also would it eat shrimp?

Please do not add a bolivian ram as you already have too small a tank for the fish you have and this would unduly stress the ram.

Is 6 neon tetra too much? People have told me it isn't a bad stocking

I don't think 6 Neon Tetras is bad stocking for a 10 gallon. They are special in that there are some that think they need a bigger tank and then there are others that are fine with them in that size.

I definitely wouldn't put a Bolivian Ram in that small of an aquarium. I'd be looking at 20 gallons long at the absolute minimum, though 30 gallons is much better.
