Trying quick cure right now as I found a spot of ich on a killie fish. Treating together right now. When ich is gone will see how the BR is doing and switch to one of the other meds.
Fish is acting normal and eating well. Color is also good. Does not seem to notice the problem.

Checked a few minutes ago. The pump appears to have gotten larger. Fish still acts fine, eats well.

Just in case it was hard to see, here is the area cropped out.

Any suggestions as to what this is?

The pointed ends look to have rounded off some as of this morning.
Currently using Tetra Parasite Guard. Quick Cure didn't seem to help.
First treatment with Parasite Guard was 2-17-16. Will follow up again with another treatment on the 19th.
Fish is still eating and behaving normal.
Checked again at 7:30PM. The bump appears to be getting smaller. However, the fish keeps darting away when I try to look at it.

Second day of second treatment of Parasite Guard. The bump has not increased and appears to have smoothed out a bit more. However, this could just be the angle I am able to view the fish.
Still eating normally and has good color. Unless I spook it when turning on the lighting it will either darken up or lighten up.

Kind of looks like an anchor worm that you caught early.

I hope it's not anchor worms. However, if it was, I may have killed it. The bump has stayed about the same the last couple of days. Not going away, but it's not getting worse. Looks like two pimples close together under the skin, but not discolored.

Stopped treatment yesterday. Bump has not changed since last update. Fish appears normal and has good color, eats well, and swims fine. Will treat again if the bump begins to enlarge. Hoping it will fade away on its own.

Well, looks like I need to start treating again. Should have kept up until bump was gone. This morning the bump is once again larger and the protrusions are back.
It is almost like the parasite/disease retreated into the fish when the medication hit the water and repappeared after medication was removed.
Switching to seachem paraguard for next treatment.

Treated last night with Seachem Paraguard. The pointed ends have either retreated back into the fish or have been killed as of this morning. Bump is the largest it has been. This is either a parasite or an infection of some sort. I am leaning away from parasite and more to an infection. Just have to sort it out.

Part of the bump is much smaller now. Fish is nicely colored and acts normal, eats well. Still using Seachem Paraguard.
Found a shop with Seachem Polyguard. Started treatment with polyguard Sunday night 2-28-216.
Will see how that goes. Hope this clears up soon. Getting expensive for this little fish.

The area closest to the mouth has decreased in size. The rear section appears smaller, but now has a small finger like projection coming from it like in the photo, but a bit longer. Hopefully, the polyguard is working.
